Congratulations to Denis McCann for being named the 2025 Team Member of the First Quarter for Tioga County Public Health!

Denis has worked at Tioga County Public Health for almost 23 years! Denis has served as the Director of Administrative Services since August of 2002. Initially, his role required him to oversee three departments in Health & Human Services – Social Services, Mental Hygiene, and Public Health. In 2010, he transitioned to become the Director of Administrative Services solely for Tioga County Public Health.  

Denis oversees all fiscal related matters for the department. This includes managing the department’s operational budget and ensuring grant and State Aid reimbursements. Denis is a dedicated supervisor to the Administrative Services team and the Director of Dental Health Services. He is part of the Quality Assurance Team and is involved in department quality improvement projects; he is currently leading a strategic plan project focused on communicating Public Health’s taxpayer value to the community. Denis also serves as the Health and Human Services Building Manager for Public Health. 

In his leadership role, Denis goes the extra mile to ensure members of our team feel recognized and valued. He is always encouraging and eager to celebrate everyone’s “wins,” no matter how small. Denis is also known for his enthusiasm and dad jokes! Denis is a team player who is always willing to help others. His coworkers describe him as funny, witty, and an all-around super individual. 

In his free time Denis is an active member of his church and participates as a board member for the Owego Little League Team. He enjoys spending time traveling with his family.
